BPPE Approved-Approval to Operate means compliance with state standards as set forth in the California Private Postsecondary Education Act of 2009.
Reporting & Consumer Disclosures
The Academy for Professional Development is a private institution approved to operate by the California Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education (BPPE). In accordance with California Education Code section 94913, this section of our website provides the current versions of the following:
- Our school catalog
- A School Performance Fact Sheet (SPFS) for each educational program we offer
- Student brochures
- A link to the Bureau's website: www.bppe.ca.gov
- Our annual reports submitted to the Bureau
While Education Code section 94913 requires institutions to post only their most recent annual report, The Academy for Professional Development voluntarily posts its annual reports for the last three (3) years in the interest of full transparency and to support prospective and current students in making informed decisions.
Prospective students are encouraged to review the school catalog and the School Performance Fact Sheet for their program of interest prior to signing an enrollment agreement. These documents contain important information about program costs, completion and placement outcomes, and institutional policies.

State of California Reporting
AFPD's required state reporting and regulatory disclosures are provided below. This page is also used for official regulatory procedures for the State of California.
Please note that performance data is reported on a delayed cycle set by the Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education (BPPE), not by AFPD. Each year by August 1, schools report outcomes, such as completion, placement, license-exam passage, and salary data for the previous two calendar years. This is because these outcomes can only be measured after a class has finished the program and students have had time to become certified or employed. For that reason, you will not see data for the current year or for students who are still in training; the most recent figures always reflect prior cohorts whose results are final. This delay is required by state law and applies to all BPPE-approved schools equally.
