The Academy for Professional Development (AFPD) offers an intensive 80-hour program delivered over 10 days at our Modesto campus. The curriculum integrates 54 hours of rigorous classroom instruction with 26 hours of hands-on skills lab, emphasizing real-world field exercises. Some home study is required to ensure mastery of protection protocols.

Designed for students who already hold a security guard license, this elite course provides the advanced techniques necessary to transition into high-consequence close protection roles.

Hands-On Training & Firearms Information

Skills training is conducted using airsoft replica devices to ensure maximum safety and realism throughout the program. Firearms-related sessions are held at professional contracted ranges to provide a high-quality learning environment.

BSIS Armed Capacity Requirements

To work in an armed capacity, students must separately obtain a firearms permit from the California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS). This requires a minimum age of 21, a thorough background check, and firearm eligibility. These are BSIS legal mandates and are distinct from AFPD admission requirements.

Tuition & Payment Options

The total program cost is $2,500. Investment in your future as an Executive Protection Specialist includes comprehensive instruction and hands-on drills.

A $900 deposit is due at enrollment to secure your seat. The remaining $1,600 balance is due 10 days before the first day of class.

Admissions & How to Get Started
