Veterans Benefits Information

Academy for Professional Development (AFPD) does not approve or issue VA education benefits. All VA benefits are managed directly between the veteran and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Our institution receives tuition payments from the VA only for instruction provided, and we have no authority or influence over benefit eligibility, approval, or payment decisions made by the VA.

AFPD is subject to rigorous audits and compliance reviews by state and federal approving authorities. We work closely with the California State Approving Agency for Veterans Education (CSAAVE) to ensure full alignment with VA regulations and state-level compliance standards.

How to Use Your VA Benefits:

  1. Apply online at https://www.va.gov/education/ to determine your eligibility for education benefits.

  2. Once approved, the VA will send you a Certificate of Eligibility (COE).

  3. You must bring your COE when enrolling at AFPD.

Important Note:
Veteran benefits can vary depending on:

  • Length and type of military service

  • Branch of service

  • Participation in special programs

  • Additional incentives received while serving

For specific questions about your benefits, please contact the VA directly at https://www.va.gov/education/ or call the VA Education Benefits Hotline: 1-888-442-4551.

About GI Bill benefits

GI Bill benefits help you pay for school and cover expenses while you’re training for a job. Since 1944, the GI Bill has helped qualifying Veterans and their family members get money to cover all or some of the costs for school or training. Learn more about GI Bill benefits on this page—and how to apply for them.

If you applied for and were awarded Post-9/11 GI Bill education benefits, your GI Bill Statement of Benefits will show you how much of your benefits you’ve used and how much you have left to use.

The GI Bill Comparison Tool can help you explore your options, and a VA accredited representative can help you apply for education benefits.
